> 3esi - 3esi develops and markets an Oil and Gas Enterprise Software Solution aimed at managing the diverse portfolio of assets of Oil and Gas companies. They are located in North West Calgary and work with Oracle, .NET, and Java.
> AESO - The Alberta Electrical Systems Operator. They do software development in java with some pretty cool technology - Spring, Hibernate, Xdoclet on their new apps. They are located downtown.
> Associations Plus - Associations Plus does some small to medium sized web site/e-commerce development and maintenance. They work with PHP and are located right beside the C-train in downtown Calgary.
> Aclaro Softworks Inc. - Also an oil related software company utilizing the .NET platform.
> Alberta Solutions Ltd. Alberta Market Solutions Ltd. is made of up a number of people who previously used to work at EFA. They do software consulting related to stock exchanges, clearing houses, and investment banks. Currently they are pretty involved with a spin off company called Dark Technologies
> Alliance Pipeline - Their head office is in Calgary.
> ARC Business Solutions - A Consulting/outsourcing firm here in Calgary that is Oracle and Microsoft certified.
> Aria Solutions - Aria Solutions is a java/XML shop that develops Customer Information Management (CIM) Software.
> Aspen Technology Inc. - While AspenTech has an office in Calgary, their head office is in the States, and development is done all over - States, India, and Canada.
> Au-Zone Technologies - A consulting/outsourcing firm specializing in C/C++/Assembler applications.
> Axia Netmedia Corp. - Axia is primarily a .NET shop developing networking and educational software. Based in Calgary.
> Bell Canada - Bell has a fair sized IT department here in Calgary. They don't seem to advertise their positions online - at least not at this site. However, they have done java and enterprise development in the past. They are located in the downtown core.
> Bellamy Software - Bellamy Software is a division of Sylogist Ltd. They are based in Alberta with an office in Calgary and they build software solutions that streamline business processes for municipalities, school districts and the private sector.
> Beyond Compliance - Beyond Compliance supports energy companies with managing various types of industry auditing. They work with Java and EXT (a set poprietary AJAX libraries) and are located in Crowfoot Crescent in Northwest Calgary. They also have offices in the US.
> Business Objects - Business Objects is an international consulting company with over 4000 employees worldwide. They have proprietary software that they integrate with clients using a well rounded technical tool set. New to calgary, their Canadian headquarters is in Vancouver.
> Calgary Scientific - A friend of mine has been consulting with this company for a couple of years now. They do some pretty high end stuff with Java, Flex, 3d software development, and openGL for the medical industry.
> Call Genie - A friend of mine is the Human Resources director at this company. They specialize in voice recognition technology, main for the telecom industry, using mobile Java, IVR, VXML, and GPS technologies. They are located in the Deerfoot 17 building on Deerfoot and 17 Avenue.
> Canexus - Canexus is a division of Nexen Inc. and they manufacture and market chemicals. Their office is in downtown Calgary and they use SAP, as well as Windows and Unix operating systems.
> Celero Solutions Inc. - Celero Solutions provide software solutions and support to Credit Unions in the prarie provinces. They have offices in all three prarie provinces and work with Microsoft tools and databases as well as COBOL and Crystal Reports. Their Calgary office is on MacLeod Trail.
> Cendec Systems Inc. - Cendec offers a range of Materials and Maintenance related software products. Head office is in Calgary.
> CGI - My first big software position was with CGI at Alberta Health. In Calgary they are currently doing a number of things, most notably the production accounting system in Java for a conglomerate of oil companies. They are located in the Trimac building downtown. Hiring multiple positions in Calgary as of Sept. 2007.
> Chartwell Technology - Chartwell is a leading developer and supplier of Internet gaming software systems to the online and mobile gaming industry. Java based software. They are currently (Sept. 2007) hiring for quite a few positions - they were downsizing earlier this year.
> Clinicare Corp. - Clinicare specializes in health software solutions and they are located by Brentwood C-Train Station in the Northwest.
> Clarity - Clarity provides software consulting services to medium and large public and private sector organizations across Canada.
> ClickSpace Interactive Inc. - ClickSpace offers a range of e-business products and services, including off-the-shelf solutions to meet the budget requirements of small and medium size businesses, as well as the custom application services to meet the unique integration needs of large corporations.
> CipherSoft Inc. - "CipherSoft Inc. is a leading software migration company specializing in providing legacy application conversions, consulting, and implementation services to organizations globally. CipherSoft has built strategic alliances with multinational firms such as Oracle, HP, Sun and IBM." They develop in Java with Oracle.
> Computer Modelling Group Ltd. - CMG is a computer software engineering and consulting firm engaged in the development, sale and technology transfer of reservoir simulation software.
> CodeCraft Consultants Ltd. - CodeCraft is located in NE Calgary and Consults with a variety of larger local companies as well as develops some of their own software.
> Control-F1 - Control-F1 is leading the Support Automation industry by providing a complete and automated support desk solution.
> Canadian Pacific Railway - CPR has been known to hire consultants. Some of their applications are Microsoft Access based.
> Claero Systems Inc. - Claero Systems is a computer consulting company in Calgary, Alberta that specializes in helping small businesses take advantage of the latest computer technology. Located on 17th Ave, they develop in PHP.
> Critical Mass - My first independant contract was with this high profile web design company here in Calgary, working on a redesign for Hyatt Hotels. They do java development on the ATG Dynamo platform using StarTeam and Oracle DB's. They are located downtown just south of city hall. Currently hiring as of Sept. 2007
> Crocus Plains Software - Crocus Plains has a proprietary product they market. On top of that they do custom software development using a broad technology tool set. Located in Banker's Hall, downtown Calgary.
> Critical Control - A conglomerate of IT companies that amalgamated. Development is done in Edmonton, head office is in Calgary. Microsoft shop.
> CyberWAVE Technologies - Cyberwave is a Microsoft certified application/database development consulting company.
> CyberSurf - Cybersurf is an ISP with an office in Calgary. They do some java development as they are currently (Sept. 2007) hiring a senior java developer.
> Dark Technologies Ltd. - Currently with an office close to Chinook mall, Dark Technologies is developing stock market related software in Ajax, J2EE, and Oracle. A lot of people from what used to be EFA are now working here.
> Demand Data Services - A software development company the focuses on application solutions for the oil industry. Based in Calgary.
> DevStudios Inc. - If you like golf and want to move to Edmonton and develop on the .NET plaform, you should definitely check this company out.
> Digiflex Information Systems Inc. - Digiflex develops and markets an integrated suite of applications for the grocery distribution and food processing industries.
> Digital Oilfield - Digital Oilfield, as of summer 2005, is trying their best to hire only employees. They are a java shop and use EJB's and located in the downtown core. Early 2007 update - currently continuing to hire full timers.
> Discoverware - DiscoverWare develops ready-made interactive e-learning solutions for the Microsoft Office Suite applications and PC and Windows Basics.
> Divestco Inc. - "Divestco is a public oil and gas software, data, seismic brokerage, and technical services company that is committed to offering superior products and services to the oil and gas industry – and beyond."
> DKTek Software Corporation - "DKTek Software Corporation is a Calgary based software development company, specializing in custom software development, website development, desktop application software development, and pda software development." Looks like they use Microsoft .NET.
