These first three pictures are actually earlier this spring (can you tell with all the leaves on the trees).
Kornelia, Erik, and I were at Bow Valley park on the Bow river here in Calgary.
Throwing rocks into the river. Presently, there is so much water where they are currently standing, it would
pretty much be over their heads - the river majorly flooded this year.
We were sitting here by the river watching some ducks really close up - a mallard and his wife.
Kornelia just learned to ride her bike this sping without training wheels. She didn't want any help doing it - just
so long as 'Dad is around'. Of course, when she's out riding her bike, Erik wants to get out and ride his bike. Here he is in
his biking outfit, ready to tear up the street.
The last two weekends in May were super nice here, so the kids and Dad went to Kananaskis recreational area (just south-east
of Banff) and did some hiking along the Elbow River valley. Here's Kornelia with some of the Elbow River valley behind her.
Kornelia and Erik are framed by Elbow River falls here. Two weeks after this day, the region got 180 mm of rain in two
days and this river flooded and caused millions of dollars of damage in Calgary.
One of Kornelia and Erik's favorite things to do when we go to a river is through rocks in. Here's Erik carefully
choosing a stone out of the Elbow River. It's very clear water in this picture, but now, with the flooding, it's all muddy.
