Erik had his 4th birthday in April and Ewa made this cake for him. She sure did a super job! He loved it!
Here's Erik with his cake loving every minute of it and getting his breath so he can blow out those candles.

Erik happily sitting with the car he got for his birthday. (batteries are long since dead)

My company had a family picnic at a farm not too far from our house. The kids had a great time there - Kornelia got her
face painted - I think she had some kind of sucker, too.
Erik got his face painted too, for the first time. He wanted to look like a dragon. He also got his hair cut that day, and
the lady who did his hair put green gel in after she was done and he just loved it.

On Mother's day we took Ewa's parents up to one of our favorite places for a picnic on the elbow river. All the picnic tables
were taken, so we 'roughed it' and put blankets down on the ground and ate.
Once we'd finished our picnic, we hiked up the river a little bit and threw stones in/across the river and enjoyed the scenery.
Here's Erik striking a pose with Ewa and her mother - all in sun glasses.

Babcia and Dziadzo enjoying the sun and taking a break from their hike up the Elbow river after our picnic.

Kornelia and Erik sitting with their Polish grandparents on the swing in our backyard eating watermellon - everybodies favorite.

Bam! Emeril watch out! Erik is with Babcia making perogies in the kitchen.

On our vacation to Vancouver Island, we stopped in Cambell River on the first day and hung out at the marina there for a bit - even saw
a habour seal swimming around.
Babcia and Dziadzo are pictured here in front of their flotilla of ships in the Comox Marina. We visited here a couple of times and
ate in a restaurant overlooking this marina that evening.
Close to the marina pictured above was a playground and this wonderful green scenery. Babcia and Dzidzo are taking it all in.
On our way across the Island to Long Beach, we stopped in Cathedral Grove, a micro climate of large trees in something of a rain forest. Ewa's
parents couldn't get over how big and tall the trees were.

Babcia and Dziadzo on the Pacific Ocean!

We spent lots of time here flying kites, beachcombing, and digging in the sand. Also just behind us is a small museum with a restaurant where
we had lunch. See more of our summer travel photos here.
